Cancel Message

The Cancel message allows you to request that a filling Member or the Host Computer cancel a previously sent order. If the Cancel message is sent before the order is processed by the Host Computer, the Host will cancel the order (not transmit to the filling florist) and send you a confirmation of the cancellation.

However, if the Cancel message reaches the Host after the order has been processed and sent to the filling Member, the filling Member can either Confirm the cancellation or Deny the cancellation.

Sending a Cancel Order Message

This procedure explains how to create a Cancel message through a Message Search. By locating the original Order message that you would like to cancel, Mercury Direct II will complete most of the Cancel message for you.

  1. From the Menu Bar click Create > Cancel.

  2. Click in the Order Number field to access a Message Search.

  3. Enter any search criteria that you wish, then click Search.

  4. When you locate the message you wish to cancel, click for the message in the Type column. The Cancel Message window will reappear with most of the information completed for you.

  5. Change any information as needed.

  6. In the Reason Type field, click the down arrow and select your reason for sending this message.

  7. Add notes as needed in the Note text field.

  8. Type your name in the Operator field.

  9. Click Send.
