Mercury Direct II is an Internet-based site where florists with appropriate access can send and receive floral orders worldwide through the FTD Mercury Network. Mercury Direct II brings ready access to the FTD Mercury Network to any VNS Florists with a computer and an Internet Service Provider (ISP) account. This new technology allows you to:
Save money on monthly technology fees when compared to leasing or renting equipment
Save space by using an existing computer
Save time with easy-to-use point-and-click technology.
Upon logging in to Mercury Direct II, your shop's customized Home Page will display, where you can send and receive orders and access all areas of the program.
This help system is designed to instruct you on how to use the various functions and messages Mercury Direct II offers. It is a quick, easy way to find answers while working in Mercury Direct II.
When you first open the help system, you will notice a Welcome page on the right side of the window, and the following three tabs located on the left side of the window. To display a tab, click on it once with your mouse.
The Contents tab displays by default. This tab consists of a series of books and pages. Pages are represented by the icon. Pages contain the information you are looking for - general information, procedures, and tips. When the help program opens, all books are closed. Once you double-click on a book, it displays the topics within that book, listed by pages. Click on the page that contains the information you are looking for and it will display in the text area of the window.
The Index tab allows you to enter keywords to find the information you are looking for. Enter a keyword, and the topic that best represents your keyword will be highlighted. Click on a topic to display its contents.
The Search tab finds all topics in the help program that contain the keyword you enter. It finds all topics that include your keyword somewhere in the text.
Most pages in this Online Help system contain jumps and/or popups. Jumps are words embedded in regular text, underlined in blue, like this for example:
to perform a Florist Search
If you click on the jump above, the help program will take you to procedures explaining how to perform a Florist Search. After you click on a jump, the jump is considered "visited," and then will be underlined in purple. Jumps are also indicated by the icon.
Popups are words embedded in regular text that also have a blue underline. If you click on a popup, a box will appear displaying the definition of that word. For example,
the relay of Interflora orders
If you click on the popup above, a box appears, defining the term without jumping to another topic.
