When you receive an incoming order or message, your system will mark it as new by labeling it as a non-printed order or message. When you print the new incoming order or message, it will no longer be marked as new and will be marked as a regular order.
If you have incoming orders waiting for you, the incoming orders will arrive at your shop when either of the following three events have taken place:
When the Mercury Direct Dialer has dialed out for its scheduled dial out interval. When you set up and installed the dialer, you specified how often you would like for the dialer to check for new messages. This time period is usually every twenty minutes.
When you send an outgoing order or message. This forces the Mercury Direct Dialer to dial out and send your message, therefore receiving any incoming orders or messages for your shop.
When you click Check for New Messages in the Order screen (Create > Order from your Home Page). This features forces the Mercury Direct Dialer to dial out and receive any incoming orders or messages for your shop.
Mercury Direct II will alert you if there is an incoming order in two ways:
In the upper right-hand corner of your Home Page, the text that reads "Non-Printed Ords/Msgs" will display the number of incoming orders or messages that have not yet been printed. These unprinted orders or messages will remain marked as non-printed until you manually go into Message Search and select the message to print.
Incoming orders or messages will be marked red (non-printed) in Message Search. They will be marked red until you print them.
To mark new incoming (non-printed) orders or messages as regular messages:
You must manually print the message. In Message Search, click the detail button in the Type field for each order or message that you would like to view and print. You will receive the following pop up message from Mercury Direct II:
If you click OK, the order or message detail will be updated as being printed and will no longer appear red in the message list. If you click Cancel, you will be able to view the order, but it will still be marked as non-printed.
When the order or message detail displays, you can print the message from this screen. Then click Back to return to the Message Search list.
